I have taken a liking to photographing random coins that make me go like "ooh I haven't seen that one", I figured I might aswell dump the pictures here. enjoy ;)

Unique Latvian coins

I will not be including coins with the girl in national costume or the one with the coat of arms of Latvia because I see those, like, every day.

Fun fact: apparently the stork species on the coin is actually a black stork! They're pretty rare in Latvia.

Unique coins from elsewhere

This is an Austrian coin. It shows an Austrian writer Berta von Suttner, she was the first woman to be awarded the Nobel's price. Way to go!

Now this one really made me go "what the fuck", I've never seen a coin like this. So, this one come from Cyprus and it shows some kind of a chalcolithic idol that was found in a village named Paphos. From a quick google search it seems that the statuette is supposed to represent fertility.
